State-run network PTV has partnered with the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) to produce “Aksyon Laban sa Kahirapan”, a show which will feature the programs of national government agencies, local government units (LGUs), and the basic sector in mitigating and overcoming poverty in the country as envisioned by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

Signing the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for this production is PTV General Manager Dr. Julio O. Castillo Jr. and NAPC Lead Convenor and Secretary Lope B. Santos III and was witnessed by PTV Head Executive Assistant Atty. Reymond Sanchez, NAPC Representative Salve Basiano, and other officials of the two agencies.

According to GM Castillo, this partnership is an opportunity to further strengthen the coordination between the two agencies in pursuing progress and upholding the living standards of Filipinos.

The TV program, slated to air in June,  will help raise public awareness and provide necessary information on the different government programs that can help address and combat poverty, such as livelihood programs, health services, and education initiatives,With poverty being a longstanding issue in the country, and as the country now gradually recovers from the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, this program could be a crucial step towards addressing the challenge and promoting inclusive growth. It will also feature various uplifting stories of Filipinos who overcame poverty and are now making a difference in their communities.

This partnership between PTV and NAPC could be a significant step in supporting the country’s efforts towards achieving a more equitable society and is a promising development that could lead to positive outcomes in the fight against poverty. Through this program, Filipinos will gain greater awareness of the government’s poverty reduction initiatives and will be more empowered to take action to improve their lives.
