State-run television network PTV and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Cordillera recently

signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the efficient use of the Emergency Warning Broadcast System (EWBS), aimed to provide timely and truthful information during times of disaster.

Through the partnership, OCD will have an effective channel for disseminating urgent information such as weather disturbance, typhoons, and other natural calamities. Through the EWBS, PTV can provide accurate and real-time updates, allowing quick and appropriate responses from the government and the public.

“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to providing quality and reliable public service. We are pleased to support the OCD in delivering immediate and essential information to Filipinos especially during critical times,” PTV General Manager Dr. Julio O. Castillo, Jr. said.

The OCD meanwhile recognizes the value of having a media partner in informing the public about impending disasters. “Media has always been a vital component of our information dissemination efforts. We are happy to have PTV as our collatorator in ensuring that timely information is available to our constituents,” OCD Regional Director Albert Mogol noted.
