As part of honoring Filipino women for their priceless contributions to society as part of the “Bagong Pilipinas,” the People’s Television Network (PTV)-Gender Focal Point System (GFPS), Kilusang Kooperatiba ng PTV, and APO Production Inc. conducted various events in conjunction with the National Women’s Month 2025.

PTV General Manager Antonio “Toby” V. Nebrida Jr. graced the opening of the week-long bazaar, which will run from March 3-7, 2025.

In his speech, Nebrida emphasized the importance of creating equal opportunities for women, which defines the essence of gender development and women’s empowerment.

Small businesses were invited as part of the women-centric event, with several food and beverage products being offered by female employees of both agencies.

Various free services, such as manicures, pedicures, and haircuts, were also made available to Network employees.

In an interview, PTV-GFPS chairperson Leah Aguzar defined the event as an opportunity for women entrepreneurs of PTV to generate extra income and champion inclusivity for men, women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community as well.

Meanwhile, the PTV-GFPS enjoined Network employees to wear anything purple on all Wednesdays of the month to express their support for gender equality and women’s empowerment.

This long-standing tradition of advocating for gender development highlights PTV’s commitment towards making the Philippines a safe place for everyone. (av)
