PTV joined the roster of representatives from various government agencies in a 4-day Emergency Broadcasting Short Course held last September 27-30, 2022 and culminated last May 23.
The short course program was implemented by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) under the sponsorship of the Australia Awards and Alumni Engagement Program-Philippines and the ABC International Development. Participants of the said short course training include representatives from the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council Office of Civil Defense (NDRRMC-OCD), IBC-13, People’s Television Network (PTV), Radio Television Malacanang (RTVM), Philippines News Agency (PNA), Bureau of Broadcast Services (BBS), Freedom of Information (FOI), Bureau of Communication Services (BCS) and PIA. Some selected representatives were even given the opportunity to travel to Australia last November 2022 to observe and study the state of emergency broadcast in the country as part of the training program.
As part of the closing ceremonies, the organizations were asked to present their respective
Re-entry Action Plan (REAP), which was developed by the Australia Awards for the Philippines, and would allow each organization to create an outline that will feature the application of acquired skills from the training that will be advantageous for the target beneficiaries in the Philippines.
